Description: Ovington Boats was started by Dave Ovington in a small corner of his father's workshop in 1976 where he built wooden boats and in particular race winning Enterprises. With the search for lighter boats and modern materials Dave progressed to using glass fibre and developed the application of vacuum bagged foam sandwich construction for lightweight dinghies. He was also at the forefront in the use of high performance epoxy resins and the majority of boats built by Ovington are now made this way. Never one to stay still in this fast developing world Dave is now using carbon fibre pre-preg over Nomex cores for his latest ventures in the 18 foot Skiff class. Ovington Boats specialise in the small high performance dinghy market, making and selling the Olympic Class 49er, the ISAF & RYA youth Asymmetric 29er Class, the 59er, Flying fifteen, International 14, and 18 foot Skiff.
